2013 Sugar Ruffles Highlights

Here are just a few of my favourite wedding cakes from 2013. I have really enjoyed working with so many lovely brides and grooms this year and am looking forward to working on all the exciting new designs planned for 2014.
It is always lovely to receive feedback after the wedding and I have received so many lovely messages from brides and grooms after their big day. You can see some of these lovely messages on the testimonials page on my website here.

 Here are some of the dessert tables and cupcake towers I worked on throughout 2013.  I always enjoy sharing new cake photos on my facebook page and have reached over 7,000 likes on my page in 2013. Thank you to everyone who comments, likes my posts and supports my page.

In 2013 I have had the honour of two of my cakes being featured on the cover of magazines. I have really enjoyed working with Melanie at Cake Craft and Decoration and Sarah from Sarah Kay Hospitality photography to create cover projects for the April and October issues of Cake Craft Guides ‘Wedding Cakes & Sugar Flowers’ and ‘Party Cakes’ magazines. I am very happy to be working on all four issues in 2014 and have already completed the first project for the January issue which I am excited to share with everyone soon.
I also had my cakes featured in Cake Central Magazine and Cake Masters magazine in 2013.

Some big family events I had the pleasure to create cakes for this year were the Christening of my beautiful Niece and Goddaughter Mia and the wedding of my Uncle Rob and Jane, as well as my cousin David's 18th birthday cake and my Grandad's 80th birthday cake. 

 I'm really looking forward to working on some exciting new projects and cake designs in 2014.

Champagne Lace Wedding Cake

3-Tier Wedding Cake delivered to the Grange hotel, Grange-over-sands for the wedding of Kayti and Sean. Bottom tier- Vanilla bean, middle tier- zesty lemon and top tier- chocolate orange truffle. 

The piped lace on the top tier matched the lace on Kayti’s
wedding dress. The cake was topped with ivory & amnesia sugar roses and sugar blossoms with sparkly diamante centres. The champagne satin bow on the middle tier was finished with a sparkly snowflake brooch and the bottom tier featured ivory buttons.

The cake was also accompanied by 98 white chocolate cake pop favours which also doubled as place settings for each of the guests. As well as a special 'bride' and 'groom' cake pop for Kayti and Sean.

A Christening cake for my beautiful Goddaughter and Niece Mia. 

Rose & Hydrangea Cascade Wedding Cake

A 2-tier vanilla bean wedding cake with lace and cascading sugar flowers delivered to Holbeck Ghyll Country House Hotel. The cascade of sugar flowers featured lilac roses (to symbolise love at first sight), ivory roses and white hydrangea flowers.
